A short history

District 26 is defined by its connection to Singapore's colonial and natural heritage. Upper Thomson is home to the historic Teacher's Estate, originally built for public school teachers and civil servants. Yio Chu Kang was named after Mr. Yeo, a Chinese immigrant who built his house (chu) by the river (kang).
